o We offer freshly cooked meals consisting of a protein, carbohydrates and vegetables
o All our ingredients are sourced from the local shops to support our local community businesses
o We believe it is important that all meals are healthy, nutritional and well balanced
o Each week a different meal is prepared
o All our chefs who prepare our meals have completed their food and safety training
o We take extra precautions with our quality control in our kitchens
o All our meals are individually packed into a medium size plastic container with a secure lid
o Our food trollies are designed to maintain heat in accordance to the legal food temperature requirement
o As soon as the meals are packed, it is taken to the team ready for distribution
o We offer a selection of hot and cold drinks they can choose from
o These ranges from tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juice or a bottled water
o We offer mini snacks and treats for something later
o The snack packages contains a sandwich, packet of crisp, a chocolate bar, sweets and/or biscuits
o We are committed to handing out clothing to those individuals who have either little or none
o We believe it is important to offer all round season clothing to ensure they can dress appropriately for any weather
o We offer: coats, jumpers, t-shirt, vest, jeans, jack-suit, socks, underwear, scarfs, gloves and hats
o We are committed to handing out footwear to those individuals who have either little or none
o We offer: boots, sandals, shoes and/or trainers
o We provide sleeping bags for those individuals who do not have
o Particularly those who are rough sleepers and sleeping on the street floor
o We believe personal and oral hygiene is important and should be be maintained
o We offer: wash cloth, shower gel, facial wipes, tooth brushes, tooth paste and body spray
o Some of our volunteers are first aid trainers
o We offer medical assistance to those who are injured to minimise the risk of infection
o We advise and encourage the individual to seek further medical assistance if we cannot meet the need
o Some of our volunteers escort the injured individual to A&E and follow through to ensure they are safe and not at risk
o We emergency house individuals in local hostels, bed and breakfast or hostels
o The emergency housing is for 1 night, including a breakfast
o We put them in touch with independent supportive living organisations to attempt getting them off the streets
o We make referrals to our local supportive housing team
o The individual has an opportunity to be housed, if they accept the proposed terms and conditions of stay
o The supportive housing accommodation is long term
o Support workers are assigned to help the individual manage with daily tasks
o They support the individual to become independent and self-sufficient
o Some individuals ask our volunteers for prayer
o Some individuals ask our volunteers for a word of encouragement
o Some individuals ask our volunteers for a scripture that can briefly talk about together
o Some individuals just want to hear someone speak positivity over them
o Some individuals ask for help regarding their emotional and mental health, eating habits, mis-substance abuse, alcoholism, being abused, suicide, self-harming and many more
o We support the individuals locating these support provisions
o We inform all individuals about the different types of entitlements that are entitled too
o We support them through the application process
o If we discover that the individual is homeless due to not being able to afford the fare to go home, we fully fund them
o We follow through with the individual to ensure they have arrived home safely back with family or friends
