General Criteria
o Male only
o Minimum aged 18 years old and above
o Single persons only
o No pets are allowed
o Must be eligible to receive housing benefits
o Must be prepared to stay at the residence for a minimum term of six months
o Whilst there is no maximum stay, the licensee should be prepared to enter into a review of the next steps if they have resided at the property for 1 year (regular reviews are every 3 months)
o Low-level offenders
o We do not support people who currently have convictions for arson/fire setting or who are serious sexual offenders
Substance Criteria
o Must not be using any controlled drugs
o No alcohol is permitted on the premises at any time
o Recovering alcoholics will be considered based on the individual’s needs & condition
o In terms of any sexual offences, we would need full details and be able to speak to their probation officer before being able to make a decision
o Anyone self-harming would be subject to a full risk assessment
Support Related Criteria
o Must have at least low - medium support needs
o Must be willing to work with Bethel Homeless Ministry weekly to meet the objectives of their support plan. This will include engaging with (and not restricted to) relevant activities, residents’ meetings and workshops
o Must have a desire to be helped towards positive change
o Must be willing to abide by the house rules
o Must be willing to abide by their license agreement
o Must be comfortable with the Christian values of the home
o Must be willing to engage with the project and participate in meaningful activities
o These can include volunteering, training, education, skill development, employment or other paid work etc
o The target as per the license agreement is a minimum of 2 hours per week
